Travel Program
Midview Soccer participates in the OHTSL Travel league for kids age 8 through 14. OHTSL provides the next step in competitive play for players and teams that are ready to advance beyond recreational play. Most age groups have as many as five levels of competitive divisions across multiple geographies in Northeast Ohio. Travel teams are registered for a full year that includes Fall and Spring seasons. Tryouts are held each June to prepare for the following season.

OHTSL (Travel) FAQ
Q: Is the schedule different from Rec?
A: Each season is 8 games, typically starting within 1 week of the rec schedule. The primary game day is Sunday with occasional weeknights (similar to rec)
Q: What are the costs?
A: Midview Soccer keeps registration costs equal for travel and rec. Teams use the same uniform kit as well. The only difference is that travel teams register for the fall and spring seasons as one registration.
Q: How far do you travel for away games?
A: Travel times are very manageable. Midview teams are placed in the “West” or “Southwest” divisions, frequent opponents include Olmsted Falls, Bay Village, Westlake, Brunswick, Medina, etc. Higher divisions and older ages (U13+) will extend further (Sandusky, Parma, Broadview, etc). NOTE: If any games require travel time longer than the game time of your age group you can request a closer neutral site.
Q: Are there boys and girls divisions?
A: Yes, there is a boys league and a girls league. Girls may play on a boys team, boys may not play on girls teams.
Q: How are divisions set up?
A: Younger ages (U12 and under) may have up to 6 levels ranging from elite (div 1/2) to entry level. New teams are generally placed in the lower ranks to start, older age groups typically have less levels. Teams that finish 1st/2nd typically are promoted to the next division, while those in the last 1/2 spots are relegated down a level.
Q: How are teams formed? Are there tryouts?
A: Yes there are tryouts (mid-June). Many of the coaches bring their existing rosters and any additional players will be assigned based on coach and coordinator discussions.
Q: Can my child play both rec and travel?
A: Yes this is called “double carding”

Midview Soccer Uniforms
U7-U15 players in both travel and rec will need to acquire the Midview Soccer standard Uniform. Frontline Soccer Shop in North Olmsted is our uniform partner. The link provided above includes an entire collection of Midview Soccer uniform components and accessories. The Midview Uniform Kit includes the essentials for participation, including socks, shorts, home, and away jerseys. If you already have a uniform from a previous season, you can continue to use this in the new season. You may select any number for your player that you'd like and names are optional. Printing of these uniforms often comes with significant lead times, so order as early as possible. Additional equipment players will need include shin guards and cleats.
